Current standings

Thanks to everyone that has voted for us this week!! We've had 27 new votes just this week - mostly at one vote per person - so that's a lot of awareness for Street School and support of its cause... as well as support for our cause - to win! :). We're finally over the $1000 hump in our fundraising so that's awesome. However, we still need to raise more because we're not winning!

Currently, the winning couple (the Schaub's) are at nearly $4000. We (the Myers') are just over $1300. So we still have some work to do in the next few days. Voting online ends at 12 midnight Friday, April 13, but continues during the prom event through 10:15 PM on Saturday, April 14. Please, VOTE FOR US!

Thanks for supporting Street School!

More photos

Stephen Pingry at Tulsa World did a great job taking these photos at Cheap Thrills vintage shop. I appreciate his patience with my inability to spin steadily. (see link to article and photo below)
I LOVED the green dress at the top. If anyone is like a size 1 - 3 and looking for a cool vintage dress, that one is amazing. You can't tell, but Jason Ashley Wright is on the floor behind me holding the back together because I'm not a size 1 - 3...
The pink dress above was so perfectly 80s it was scary. The material was like the furthest thing from natural. It was very weird. It made this strange sound when I moved.

A few more than 100

Before I said I needed like 100 votes this week to be competitive and maybe win. Nevermind that. I need more like 200 - 400 more votes to win. So if anyone has like $4,000 - $8,000 laying around, consider donating it to Street School and giving me the votes. Currently, Jackson and I have raised a little over $800, which is really incredible considering it's been $20 - $40 donations at a time. But, the current winner has raised $3060. SO I NEED YOUR VOTES! JUST CLICK HERE.

I will say, that the great part of only raising $800 so far, though, is that it has been 1 - 2 votes at a time which means I've had a lot of people vote. A lot of great friends and family have voted for us so THANK YOU! I may not be able to get the big checks, but I can get a lot of checks.

I will happily take the big checks though... THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING!

I'm not giving up... :)

Tulsa World story

Thanks to Jason Ashley Wright for the story this morning about the Street School prom!

The home stretch...

The prom is THIS Saturday. If you haven't bought tickets yet, now's the time. More importantly, if you haven't voted for me yet, please do TODAY! It's so easy too. Just click here and say you want to vote for me and Jackson, like 100 times or whatever you prefer. Seriously, I need like at least 100 votes this week. That still may not be enough to win, but it would get me really close... and you know me, I want to WIN.

Thanks again to everyone that's already voted!!!

XOXO

A real happy camper...

So this is the dress...Can you tell that I'm really happy to be on the side of 15th street... barefoot... in a crazy-pink 80s prom dress... twirling for photos... in some crazy Oklahoma wind... I kind of do look like a kid at easter not wanting to have their picture taken...

Jason Ashley Wright saved the day...

Thanks to Jason and his impeccable shopping abilities, I found a great dress today. Soon, I shall post photos. In the meantime, imagine Madonna, Barbie pink and a flowy skirt great for turns. Be sure to catch Tulsa World on Saturday for details from our shopping adventure.

Also, an update on the current Prom King and Queen standings... I'm still in 2nd place. I need your help! If you haven't voted for me yet, or if you want to vote for me some more so I'll be the winner, please do so now. The prom is only 2 weeks away!

PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!

For those of you who have voted already - THANK YOU!

More soon,
Andrea

This year's prom theme is PRETTY IN PINK

Guess I could make my own dress like Molly did...

I NEED A DRESS

So, I still need a dress for the Street School prom coming up on April 14... Any one have any ideas? The fun thing about this event is that you can dress up in tacky 80s wear (no offense to you 80s hold-outs) or you can wear vintage or modern dresses. Heck, you can wear jeans and flip flops if you want, although I guarantee those in sequins, gloves and uncomfortable high heels will be having the most fun.

Hey, know what? You should come to the Street School prom too! I know you're already thinking about your prom days and what you wore... This is a chance to either redeem yourself after that hideous spangled fuschia number or maybe have a little fun in the thing again. And guys, don't feel left out. You're old cumberbunds (how on earth do you spell that???) will be a hit at this prom!

So attend the prom with us and have a great time. Tickets are available online now. Oh, and while you're there, VOTE FOR ANDREA AND JACKSON MYERS for Prom King and Queen. It's only $20 a vote and it will be much appreciated...

I have to be the Queen… of the Street School prom!

As a part of Street School’s annual adult prom fundraiser, my good-sport husband, Jackson, and I are serving in the Prom Court. This means we have a chance to be the King and Queen of the Prom. Finally, my chance to be royalty! This is a really fun event – one of those no-one-takes-themselves-too-seriously kinds of things. Everyone dresses up in vintage prom attire for the party. The theme is “pretty in pink” so you can bet there will be some Molly Ringwald look-alikes in the crowd. Considering last year’s best dressed winners (see http://www.streetschool.org/calendar_street_party_prom.html) I’d say this is a pretty fun event.

The bottom line: I want to win. To win, I need your votes. To vote, you just need to donate $20 to Street School. It’s super easy. Just go to
http://www.streetschool.org/calendar_street_party_prom.html and click “Vote Now”. You can then decide to donate $20 or $2000 – depending on how much you love us – and then pick our names from the list.

I hope you’ll also consider joining us at the prom. It’s sure to be a great time. If you have any questions, just give me a ring. Thanks in advance for your support of Street School (and my dreams of finally getting to wear a real crown).
